Sub-Bottom Profilers

The ATLAS PARASOUND range of sub bottom profilers are the most advanced hull mounted parametric sonar systems in the market. They are suitable for operations to depths beyond the continental rise into the abyssal plains and down to the deep ocean trenches. The ATLAS PARASOUND family consists of two product variants depending on bottom penetration requirements:

ATLAS PARASOUND P35

Suitable for operations from 10 m to 10 000 m, the ATLAS PARASOUND P35 operates at primary frequencies of 18-27 kHz to provide secondary frequencies as low as 500 Hz. With a secondary parametric source level of approximately 200 dB this provides bottom penetration >150 m with resolution <15 cm depending on bottom characteristics.

ATLAS PARASOUND P70

Suitable for operations from 10 m to 10 000 m the ATLAS PARASOUND P70 operates at primary frequencies of 18-39 kHz to provide secondary frequencies as low as 500 Hz. With a secondary parametric source level of approximately 206 dB this provides bottom penetration >200 m with resolution <15 cm depending on bottom characteristics.

ATLAS PARASOUND sonars are equipped with a range of environmental protection functions including Whale Warning Mode (WWM) and Automatic Transmission Source Level Control (ASLC) to provide warning to mammals and limit source level of transmissions.
